(Jefferson City) Missouri State Parks report more than 22 million people visited last year.
That represents a seven-percent increase from 2020 and is an all-time high.
Things are going so well that the biggest complaint the agency receives is that the 92 parks and historic sites are so popular people sometimes can’t get in.
Money from the American Rescue Plan Act will be used to build more cabins, upgrade existing campsites, and improve internet access.
The state reports a 24-percent increase in campsite rentals during 2021.
