(Jefferson County) Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are currently trying to track down a suspect they believe to be connected in a double shooting in the area of Meyer Road and Highway P near Joachim Creek outside of Festus.
Grant Bissell is the Public Safety Information Coordinator for the sheriff’s office. He says deputies received the call of the shooting around 5:30 Saturday evening.
The two victims reportedly had spent some time down by the creek and came back up to where the female victims car was parked. That’s when they noticed one of the vehicle windows had been broken out.
Both victims were transported to an area hospital.
The male victim was treated and released. The female victim is still at the hospital but reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect left the scene following the shooting and authorities are currently working on trying to track that person down.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 636-797-5515.
