AV Girls All-Time Scoring Leader Smith Earns Third-Straight Dream Team Selection

(Ironton) One of the best scorers in MAAA basketball history once again brought home multiple accolades in her final season in Ironton.

Arcadia Valley’s Gracee Smith lit up the scoreboard all year long and earned her third-straight Girls Basketball Dream Team selection.

She says she appreciates the recognition.

Smith saved her best for last as she averaged 25 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, shot 40% from beyond the arc, and shot 81% from the free-throw line this season.

The Lady Tigers have done plenty of winning in recent years, and there have been several head coaches who helped make that possible, including Ricky Turnbough who took over the helm this year.

Smith says all of them made a big impact on her career.

Along for all the wins and all the points scored by Smith throughout her career has been the AV faithful.

Smith says having such great fans has made playing for the Lady Tigers a truly special experience.

This season Smith earned her third-straight All-Conference and All-District selections, her second-straight All-State selection, and helped lead the Arcadia Valley girls to a (14-11) record.

She also finished her career as the all-time leading scorer in AV girls hoops history with 2,153 points.
