96th Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Tournament Semifinals on J-98

(Ironton) The longest running basketball tournament in the state of Missouri returns to J98. The 96th Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Tournament semifinals begin tonight at 6:15.

The first semifinal game features the top seed and back-to-back Class 1 champion South Iron Panthers taking on the host team, Arcadia Valley. South Iron routed Lesterville in the opening round Monday night by a score of 70 to 22.

#4 Arcadia Valley defeated #5 Clearwater last night, 90-59.

The second semifinal game pits the #2 seed West County Bulldogs against the #3 seed Fredericktown Blackcats. West County opened the tournament with a test against Ellington, winning 60-52. Fredericktown was able to defeat Bismarck by 17 points Monday night.

The Blackcats edged the Bulldogs by one point in this tournament last year. Fredericktown coach Joaby Sikes remembers it well…

West County coach Chris Labruyere says it was an up-and-down win over Ellington but his guys were able to finish the job.
