Barnhart man wanted for allegedly shooting, killing Festus man following altercation

Authorities are currently looking for a 22-year-old Barnhart man who they believe shot and killed a Festus man following an altercation at the victims apartment.

According to Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis, officers were dispatched around 5:45 Wednesday evening for several shots fired at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Westvale Drive.

The shooting is reportedly a result of an argument between the two men.

Police are actively applying for warrants against the suspect with the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
