(Viburnum) After learning about funding problems last year at the Viburnum School District due to the Doe Run Company winning their tax protest against the district, school administrators first thought they would not be able to afford to field a baseball team or track team this spring.

However, Superintendent Kent Sherrow says at least one of those sports will field a team thanks to a nice donation.

The Blue Jays start their baseball season Friday, March 20th at Belle High School.

The first home game in Viburnum is Tuesday the 24th at Baker’s Field against the Bourbon Warhawks.
