Behind Large, Experience Senior Class Valle Catholic Starts the Season With High Expectations

(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo) The Valle Catholic Warriors will be hosting with Ste. Genevieve the Ameritime Tournament to start the season for a number of listening area team this weekend. The Warriors are coming off a Class 2 State Title last year, their 4th in 5 years. This year the expectations are high as Valle Catholic is ranked #1 in Missouri among all Class 2 teams according to the Missouri High School Baseball Coach’s Association. Head Coach of the Warriors Nathan Gegg however doesn’t give preseason rankings much thought.

The Warriors graduated two talented players last year in Jacob Bieser and Dream Teamer Chris Loida. Coach Gegg knows that replacing their contributions will have to be a team effort.

Lead by the top two hitters in the lineup, CF Carter Roth and SS Tyler Blum, the Valle Catholic Warriors will turn to 10 talented seniors returning from last year to replace that production.
