(HILLSBORO) As announced Tuesday on Regional Radio, Hillsboro shooting guard Ben Lampkins is the latest Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Athlete of the Week.

Lampkins scored 57 points last week in victories over Ste Genevieve, North County, and Jefferson, while shooting 11 of 14 from three, contributing 8 assists, and committing zero turnovers.

Head coach Dan Johnson said Lampkins has a high basketball IQ and is a gym rat. Lampkins says that that mentality runs in the family and that he’s happy coach Johnson has seen that drive in him.

Lampkins has chosen the Festus Animal Shelter as the non-profit for the Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy to donate 25-dollars to in his name.

Through the first 8 games of the season, Ben Lampkins is averaging 18.6 points per game and shooting 65-percent from three. The 6-2 Hillsboro Hawks will be back in action Friday night at 7 at St. Pius, which you can hear on AM 1400 KJFF and here.
