(Ste. Genevieve) The Valle Catholic volleyball team was one of the best in the area this year as they made it to the class 2 state championship and only lost by two points in the fifth set. In the middle for the Warriors was Ella Bertram who put down 307 balls all while hitting an incredible .408 on the season. She also racked up 155 total blocks. Area coaches had to deal with her all season long and decided she needed a spot on the 2020 Volleyball Dream Team. Bertram says it’s nice to have her hard work recognized.

Similarly to a baseball batting average, a good hitting percentage in volleyball is anything above .300. Bertram finished the season at .408 on 635 swings. She says her high efficiency is no accident.

Valle Catholic has been to two state championship matches in the last five years, but this was the first for Bertram and she says it was an experience like no other.

Bertram joins her teammate, Riley Siebert, on this year’s Volleyball Dream Team.
