Bismarck Baseball Hopes To Ride Strong Pitching To Success

The Bismarck baseball team defeated Grandview 4-1 on Monday to open their season. Head coach Chris Hayes’ main takeaway is that the team has good pitchers but question marks on offense.

Hayes says that the offseason has gone well and he likes the work that his players have been putting in.

The team is not very senior-heavy, so Hayes is relying on the few seniors they do have for leadership. These seniors include Gavin Butery, Carter Hedrick and Isaiah Faulkner, all of whom Hayes had high praise for.

The team has also adapted a rallying cry for the season. Hayes is looking to install in his team a mantra he calls “Win the Week.”

Bismarck went 11-10-1 last season. Their next game is scheduled for Thursday at Fredericktown.
