(myMOinfoSports) Lauren Callahan is the new face of the girls basketball program at Bismarck. From being the school’s nurse to her first coaching gig, Callahan turns to experiences as a player at West County for guidance.

Despite playing forward and center at West County, Callahan understands a successful team is good in all aspects of the game.

Senior Alyssa Sago was the clear leader of the Indians last year, averaging more than 23 points per game. After graduating, the absence of her leadership qualities and scoring will need to be replaced.

Callahan offers a little insight as to her expectations for this somewhat inexperienced group.

New Bismarck head coach Lauren Callahan has Madison Dugal and Kendra Cooper returning as seniors for the Indians. They’ll look to turn around a 2016 season in which they went 9-12 while falling to Oran in the Class 2, District 2 semifinals.
