Bismarck Man Sentenced for Stabbing Incident in Madison County

(Fredericktown) A man from Bismarck, who was arrested in February 2020 and charged with a stabbing in Madison County was given his sentence last week after pleading guilty to second degree assault.

67-year-old Roy Lee Snyder was given 7 years in prison with a Suspended Execution of Sentence and instead was given 5 years of supervised probation.

Police reports say Snyder stabbed another man with a knife at a home on Kelly Street in Fredericktown during an argument on February 6th of 2020.

The victim received a deep cut on his forearm and a minor cut on his neck.

Snyder was originally charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action but was given a lesser charge after accepting a plea deal with the prosecution.
