BJC Postponing All Electives Again

BJC healthcare is once again postponing all elective procedures starting Thursday, January 6, until further notice.
Patients hospitalized for COVID-19 exceeded 500 across BJC HealthCare on Tuesday. This is the second time BJC has taken this measure, but the current situation is beyond anything they’ve seen thus far in the pandemic. Nurses nurses, staff and facilities are being stretched to their limits, and BJC is reassigning staff to other areas of their hospitals with more urgent need. Patients who currently have procedures scheduled, and whose procedures are not considered urgent, will be contacted by BJC about postponing. BJC says they are seeing cases continue to rise and resources continue to be strained. The hospital in Farmington and the Medical Arts center in Bonne are included in the BJC facilities.
