Black River Electric Working To Restore Power
(Fredericktown) Black River Electric Cooperative crews are working to restore power to those affected by the tornado and storms that rolled through the area this week. Heather Dietiker is a communication specialist with Black River Electric. She says over 2,000 customers were impacted by this severe weather. We asked her when all the power will be restored.
Dietiker says they do have this advice for customers whose electric units have sustained structural damage.
Over a thousand customers have already had their power restored. Dietiker says the majority of damage to Black River Electric equipment is on a line from the Grassy community, through Glenallen and Scopus. Damage assessments continue, but approximately 100 broken poles have been identified and several miles of line are on the ground. In many cases, crews are having to clear massive numbers of downed trees to access repairs.
