Bobby Simily Named Baseball Dream Team Coach Of The Year
(Leadwood) Bobby Simily was voted as the Baseball Dream Team Coach of the Year. The skipper of the West County Bulldogs led his team to the Class Three quarterfinals for the first time since 2017. This isn’t the first time Simily has been named a Dream Team Coach of the Year, but he says this one is special.
West County only had four upperclassmen on the roster: two seniors and two juniors. The Bulldogs defeated state-ranked schools Valle Catholic and Valley Park in the district championship and sectional matchup, respectively. Simily says playing the game the right way, win or lose, will lead to success.
West County plays fall and spring baseball, so the two seniors, Caden Merrill and Trey Wright, were able to accomplish a lot over their four years and eight seasons with the Bulldogs.
Merrill was named to the Baseball Dream Team. West County ended their season with a record of 20-5.
