Bourbon Police Chief Suspended

(Bourbon, Mo.) Bourbon Police Chief Paul Satterfield has been placed on suspension after the city’s Board of Alderman approved the motion by a 4-0 vote Monday night. The motion was initiated by Ward 2 Alderwoman Mary Heywood, and it authorized Mayor Dave Lafferty to ask for Satterfield’s resignation.

Satterfield did not resign, nor was he fired, but his suspension is without pay. He is entitled to a court hearing in 10 days where a determination will be made on his future employment with the police department.

Satterfield was previously placed on paid administrative leave back in August 2019 following undisclosed complaints made against him by fellow officers of the Bourbon Police Department.
