Brock Wakefield Named to 2nd Dream Team This Year

(Annapolis) It was quite the career for Brock Wakefield at South Iron High School. Not many athletes are multi-time Regional Radio Dream Team Members, but Wakefield managed to join the team twice in the same year, once for basketball and once for baseball. The Panthers baseball team went 17-5 this past season and won the Class 1 District 3 championship. After not having a season last year, Wakefield says that the Panthers wanted to reach the goal they had for themselves…

Wakefield had a phenomenal season on the mound, with a .82 ERA, 133 strikeouts, and a win-loss record of 10 and 3. However, he credits the defense he was surrounded by for the great season…

Wakefield will be attending The Citadel to play both basketball and baseball. Wakefield will play point guard and shortstop at the Division 1 level and it was always his dream to get to this point in his life…

He also shared his favorite memories from his high school playing career…

Along with being a Dream Team Athlete, Wakefield was a 2-time BRL Player of the Year, 4-time BRL all-conference, 3-time all-district, and 2-time all-state.
