Business as Usual as Central Rolls Over Potosi

(Park Hills) Central moved to 5-0 tonight with a 33-6 victory over the Potosi Trojans heard on the MyMoInfo SportStream. The scoring started early for the Rebels as they scored on their second play of the game. Jett Bridges connected with Grant Manion on an 81 yard touchdown pass.

The Rebels added a field goal to go up 10-0 but Potosi would answer with a ten play 73 yard touchdown drive to pull with a score. That would be the only time the Trojans would score though and it was all central from that point on. Dayshawn Welch had a big first half rushing for 112 yards on nine carries, including this long touchdown run.

Welch added a one yard touchdown run in the second half and capped off the night with 16 carries for 127 yards and 2 scores. Jett Bridges added a 35 yard touchdown run to his night sealing the win for the Rebels. After the game, head coach Kory Schweiss said it’s nice to get a win but his team needs to work harder to stay disciplined.

Potosi head coach Dylan Wyrick said he loved how his kids never gave up and he likes to see he team showing the unteachable things like fight and grit.

Central moves to 5-0 on the season and will face Ste. Genevieve next week. You can hear that on the MyMoInfo SportStream. Potosi falls to 2-3 and take son Perryville in week 6.
