Byrnes Mill Man Pleads Guilty To Possessing Pipe Bombs

(St. Louis) A Jefferson County man Wednesday admitted in federal court Wednesday to possessing two pipe bombs and methamphetamine.

A news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office says 47-year-old Douglas Moore of Byrnes Mill was stopped by a deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department on May 11th of 2021 while he was driving a 2004 Suzuki Aerio with expired license plates.

Moore also had an active warrant.

During his arrest, the deputy found the pipe bombs and meth inside the car.

Moore was on probation at the time and had pending charges out of Ste. Genevieve County and Jefferson County.

Moore pleaded guilty Wednesday to one felony count of possession of an unregistered destructive device.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced in July and the crime carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.
