(Byrnes Mill) Formally known as Shop with a Cop, the Byrnes Mill Police Department decided to change things up a bit this year and partner with other area first responders, such as Jeffco 911 Dispatch, High Ridge Fire Protection District, Northwest Jeffco Ambulance District and many more, to make Christmas a little brighter for less fortunate children in and around the Byrnes Mill area through the Shop with a Hero program.

Byrnes Mill Police Chief Mark Selvaggio says they are still accepting donations for the program.

Chief Selvaggio mentions this is a very special time for not only the kids but for the first responders as well.

Shop with a Hero will be held on Wednesday, December 4th at the High Ridge Walmart. According to Chief Selvaggio, the children will receive their presents during a dinner at Fore Honor Golf Course in House Springs on Monday, December 16th.

The Shop with a Hero program is hoping to provide approximately 75 children from Northwestern Jefferson County with the opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts with a local first responder.

If you, or someone you know, has a child age 14 or younger that may need help this holiday season making Christmas a little brighter please call the Byrnes Mill Police Department at 636-677-7727 to sign up.
