Cadet Woman Killed In Accident

(Cadet) A Cadet woman was killed last night in a traffic accident on Interstate 55 in St. Louis County.

The highway patrol says a truck driven by 49 year old Rebecca Travis was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle while making a lane change.

The truck then ran off the road and hit the guardrail, went down an embankment and overturned.

Rebecca Travis wasn’t wearing a safety device and was thrown from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her passenger, 52 year old David Travis, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South.

The accident happened just after six o’clock last night, north of South Lindbergh Boulevard.
