Camping Permits Required for Backcountry of Hawn State Park

(Ste. Genevieve) Hawn State Park now requires backpack campers to obtain a permit to camp in the backcountry of the park. Ed Schott, the park superintendent, says an increase in use of the backcountry created the change, but things have been improved.
The permits are free of charge and it only takes a phone call to get.
