Car break-ins still taking place

(Imperial) Attempted car break-ins have continued to take place in areas of Jefferson County. Sheriff Dave Marshak says deputies responded to crimes in progress just last week.

Sheriff Marshak says most of the subjects continue to be from other areas of the St. Louis region.

In this incident, the subjects fled the area in the stolen car, and the pursuit was terminated by the Sheriff’s Office. Many regions that are close to I-55 continue to be the targeted areas due to the close proximity to the highway. Despite the latest incident, car clotting situations have been less frequent compared to 2021.
