Cares Act funding for businesses continue

(Hillsboro) An additional round of funding is available to area businesses when it comes to what they have spent on Covid-19 related expenses. Jefferson County received 26.5 million dollars from the Federal Cares Act to help the area entities. Todd Tracey is the Executive Director of the Economic Development Corporation of Jefferson County. He says there are two ways local businesses can get help.

The Business Safe program can reimburse up to five-thousand dollars but can be evaluated to help with more funding depending on how much Cares Act monies are left at the end of the year. Tracey says there is another way for businesses can get additional help.

Businesses can go to the Jefferson County EDC website at Jeff County MO dot org to begin the application process. The current round of funding ends on October 10th. However, if funds are still available, there will be another round of submitting applications later in October.
