Cattle & Horse Medicine is Not People Medicine

(Farmington) The Missouri Poison Center says it has been receiving an uptick in calls about ivermectin consumption, leading to some dangerous side effects.

The problem is, ivermectin is cattle and horse medicine, used as a de-wormer.

Many people across Missouri and the U.S. have apparently started using it for what they think will treat and prevent COVID-19.

So why are people taking this in the first place.

Well, some elected officials and non-credible internet news sources have spent months touting this cattle and horse drug as an effective treatment for Covid-19. Health officials say it is not and for some, it could actually kill you.
