(Jefferson County) The latest CDC week 2 health update has been released in Jefferson County.
According to health department spokeswoman Brianne Zwiener case counts were down this update compared to last week.
More than 48 percent of Jefferson County residents have been fully vaccinated with roughly 17 percent of the population having received the third dose/booster.
Other than COVID-19, the health department reported 40 additional flu cases in week 2 bringing the total number of cases this season to 897.
Influenza A continues to be the dominant strain circulating in the county making up 93 percent of cases.
