Central Boys Punch Final Four Ticket With Payback Win Over MICDS

(Hillsboro) The 4th ranked Central Rebels advanced to their first final four since 1976 with a 56-52 victory over #3 MICDS Friday at Jefferson College. The 27-3 Rebels suffered their only double digit loss of the season back on January 10th against the Rams, but never trailed in the Class 4 quarterfinal. Jobe Bryant gave the Rebels their first double digit lead at 24-13 midway through the second quarter….

MICDS used a 14-4 to make it a one point game early in the third. They finally tied it up at 33 in the third and Marcus Coleman hit a four point play at the buzzer to send the game into the 4th at 39 apiece. The largest lead in the 4th quarter was only four points. Caden Casey led Central with 15 points with his last seven points coming at the free throw line. Jobe Bryant scored 11.

 

Mason Swartz scored 10 for MICDS.
Central will play Lafayette of St. Joseph Thursday at noon to try to get to the first championship game in program history. MICDS closes the season at 23-7.
