(PARK HILLS) – The one-seed Central Rebels advanced to the championship round of the girls MAAA Conference Basketball Tournament by defeating four-seed Arcadia Valley Tigers 67-59 in a game heard Thursday night on J-98. Central dominated the scoring throughout the game, doubling their lead 20-10 at the end of the first quarter.

The Tigers came within four at the end of the third quarter.

Rebels head coach Josh Mapes says Arcadia Valley put up a good fight.

Also on J-98, the two-seed Farmington Knights advanced to the championship round by defeating six-seed Valle Catholic Warriors 73-39. Farmington head coach Rusty Sancegraw says he was pleased with the effort of his team.

Farmington and Central will battle for the girls MAAA Conference Tournament Championship Saturday night. You can hear the boys and girls 3rd place games followed by the championship games Saturday on J-98. Pregame coverage begins at 3:45 p.m.
