Central Football Defeats St. Francis Borgia 50-28; Advances to Class 3 Semifinals

(Park Hills) The Central Rebels football team had a historic 50-28 win over St. Francis Borgia, which gives the program it’s first state semifinal berth. The game started off close, with Central scoring first
Borgia would answer, and the teams would go back and forth for the entire first quarter. The Rebels had a lead early in the second quarter, but Borgia cut it down with a big kick return.
The Rebels went into halftime with a 24-21 lead, following a few defensive stalemates.
Borgia took the lead in the third quarter, but Central’s defense scored twice to help the Rebels pull away late.
Rebels head coach Kory Schweiss describes the adjustments the defense made at halftime.
Central improves to 9-3 and will face Blair Oaks next Saturday.
