(PARK HILLS, Mo.) – A pair of 7-3 teams face off Friday night as the second-seeded Central Rebels football team will host the third-seeded Ste. Genevieve Dragons in the Class 3, District 1 semifinals, which can be heard on J-98.

It was Central capturing a 20-0 win versus Dexter last week in the quarterfinals, the seven seed in the district.

Rebels head coach Kory Schweiss is happy to be in the semis but knows the unforced errors must get cleaned up.

On the side of Ste. Gen, it was a 31-7 blasting of the sixth-seeded Fredericktown Blackcats in the quarters last week.

That came just three weeks after the Dragons beat Fredericktown by only 8 points.

Ste. Gen head coach Ken Weik says his team is in a good place right now.

Central went on the road and defeated Ste. Gen 31-14 back in week five of the regular season.

Coach Schweiss predicts a tougher game this time around following five straight wins for the Dragons.

Ste. Genevieve has lost 7 straight games to Central.

As for what coach Weik remembers from their first encounter this year…

The winner of this contest takes on either top-seeded Kennett or fourth-seeded Potosi in the district finals next Friday.

You can tune into the Class 3, District 1 semifinal game between Central and Ste. Gen Friday on J-98.

The Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show begins at 6, with kickoff taking place at 7.
