(POTOSI, Mo.) – Both the Central Rebels and Potosi Trojans could claim at least a share of a conference title with a win Friday as they face off on the gridiron during Homecoming weekend in Potosi. The Rebels’ current three-game winning streak has helped them to a 3-2 overall record and a 2-0 mark in MAFC White conference play. Rebels head coach Kory Schweiss said his younger guys have learned from some early-season struggles.

Both teams primarily like to run the football, but Schweiss said Potosi’s running attack looks different from the one his team uses.

The Trojans stayed alive in the conference title race with a 24-21 road win against Fredericktown last week, bringing them to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in conference. Trojans head coach Ed Haar said they need to focus in on Central’s strong running backs.

Haar said his offense can be dangerous if his players can limit some untimely mistakes.

Last year, Potosi edged Central 7-6 to break an eight-game losing streak against the Rebels. They will meet again Friday with kickoff at 7 p.m. on J-98. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 6 p.m.
