Central Rebel Baseball Team Opens The Season 2-0

(Park Hills) The Central Rebel baseball team opened their season this past weekend with two wins in O’Fallon, beating St. Charles 14-4 and Duchesne 5-1. Coach Ronnie Calvird tells us what he saw from his guys during a chilly opening weekend…

The Rebels had a stellar season last spring, winning 19 straight games and a district championship before falling short to Class 4 third place finishers Kennett in the state tournament. Seven players graduated from that team, but a lot of talent remains, including junior Casen Murphy, the reigning Dream Team Player of the Year…

Calvird says that seven senior class was unusually large. There are four seniors on this years’ team…

And the rest of the Rebel crew has spent plenty of time on the diamond…

All-in-all, Calvird is looking forward to another spring coaching the Rebels…

Central is scheduled to play at Perryville Tuesday afternoon, however, that is weather pending.
