Central Rebel Boys & Girls Basketball Teams Head To Springfield

(Park Hills) For the first time in school history, the Central Rebel boys and girls basketball teams will play in the state semifinals at the same time.

The #3 Rebel boys defeated #4 MICDS to make their first semifinal appearance since 1976. The #5 Lady Rebels beat Lift For Life in their quarterfinal game to return to the MSHSAA Show-Me Showdown for the first time since 2015 when they won the Class 3 state championship.

Both teams have a record of 27-3 and it’s the second appearance for both programs at the Show-Me Showdown.

Jobe Bryant leads the team at 22 points and 6 assists per game. The Rebel boys will play the 22-7 Lafayette Fighting Irish in the Class 4 semifinals Thursday at noon on J98.

The Lady Rebels won the state championship in coach Josh Mapes’ second season. He’s hoping to have the full force of Park Hills show up to Springfield…

The #5 Lady Rebels will play the #2 Benton Cardinals (26-3) in the Class 4 semifinals Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock on J98 as well as MyMoInfo.com. Pregame coverage begins 15 minutes prior to tip-off for both games.

Friday, the boys will either play in the state championship at 2 o’clock or in the 3rd place game at 10 a.m. The Lady Rebels will would play their state championship game at 4 o’clock or 3rd place game at noon Friday. J98 will carry both games.

All games are played on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield.
