The Central Rebels earned another victory Tuesday night by defeating the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders at home by a final score of 66-48 in a game heard on Regional Radio.

The first quarter only saw the Rebels go up by four, but Central outscored Saxony 16-5 in the second frame to lead at the half 35-20. Because of that second quarter, the score never got below double digits for the rest of the game.

The star of the night was Central junior Brent Wagner, who knocked down eight threes and put in 26 points total with five of the long balls coming in the first half.

Wagner was also awarded our Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game.
Rebels head coach Adam Barton thinks Wagner is starting to adjust to being a more focal point of opposing team’s gameplans.

On the other side for Saxony, the struggle for interim head coach Chris Crawford has been getting his team to play a full four quarters of basketball.
On Tuesday, the second quarter didn’t go their way, but overall improvements are being made per the head man.

Saxony drops to 1-6 with the loss and has Eminence next on Friday. Central improves to 5-3 and won’t play again until the Central Christmas Tournament begins on Wednesday, December 26th.
The fifth-seeded Rebels will open up with the twelve seed in West County. We will have all the action of the tournament from the 26th to the 31st on Regional Radio.
