Central Sharpshooter Brent Wagner Signs with Fontbonne University

(Park Hills, Mo.) A decorated player for the Central Rebels boys basketball team and a staple of the program over the past few years, Brent Wagner has made his decision and will be continuing his basketball career at Fontbonne University in the fall.

He says the urgency from Fontbonne head coach Lance Thornhill to bring him on board showed him that he was meant to play for the Griffins.

Wagner finished this past season for the Rebels boys basketball team averaging 17.8 points per game, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He was named All-Conference, All-District, and was selected by area coaches to the Regional Radio Dream Team.

Wagner says it was an honor to put on a Rebels uniform.

Central boys basketball assistant coach Mark Casey says Wagner is a well-rounded player and the entire Rebels coaching staff is proud of him.

Wagner joins a Fontbonne University men’s basketball team that went 14-12 this past season.
