Central Takes Class 3 Dist 2 Title Over Ste. Genevieve

(Park Hills) The Central Rebels beat the Ste. Genevieve Dragons three sets to one to win the Class 3 District 2 volleyball title at the T.J. Foulon Fieldhouse in Park Hills on J-98. Central raced to an eight point advantage in set one only to see Ste. Gen go on a 20-9 run and take their only lead at 28-27. The Rebels regrouped to win the final three points of the set off the right arm of Kaley Kimball…

The Dragons took set two 25-23 and the Central won set three 25-19. Lizi Marler put cap on a 25-21 fourth set victory…

It’s been 18 years since Central has won a district title and coach Tracie Casey couldn’t be happier…

Kimball earned our Applebees of Farmington Player of the Game with 21 kills and 11 blocks.

Ste. Genevieve ends the season 20-6 with MAAA regular season and tournaments championships. Central goes into the class three state bracket at 24-5-3. They head to Owensville to play 8-6 Visitation Academy in the sectional on Saturday.
