Central Takes Down North County 10-0 In Six Innings On KREI

(Park Hills) The Central Rebels took sole possession of 1st place in the MAAAA large school division after beating North County 10-0 in six innings Tuesday.

Casen Murphy tossed six innings of one-hit ball while striking out 13 batters. He also walked three and hit one batter, but kept his season ERA at 0.00. Murphy also provided the difference maker with a solo homer in the first inning.

Central plated five more runs in the second inning. The highlight came when Murphy was intentionally walked to load up the bases for cleanup hitter Sammy Callaway.

Jobe Bryant provided the walk-off hit with his second RBI single of the day.

Central are now 11-1 and 3-0 in conference play. Shortstop Ty Schweiss tells us what it’s like to watch the Dream Team Player of the Year from his position.

Schweiss was pretty happy to have a couple of putouts in the game.

North County starter Jobe Smith struck out five batters and gave up eight runs in three innings, but only three were earned runs. North County had seven errors in the field. Reliever Michael Huff was effective, tossing 2.1 innings giving up two unearned runs while striking out two. North County are 3-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They play Farmington Wednesday.
