(PARK HILLS, Mo.) – The MAAA volleyball tournament will conclude Thursday with the semifinals, third place and championship matches at Central High School in Park Hills. For the first semifinal, the top-seeded Central Rebels face off against the fourth-seeded North County Raiders. Central took two sets from North County on October 3rd and now sits at 25-3-2 after winning its tournament pool on Monday against Potosi and West County.

North County is now 15-14 with a four-match winning streak after sweeping Farmington and Bismarck in pool play. Raiders coach Chelsea Crocker said her team has found some consistency near the end of the season.

In the second semifinal of the night, the second-seeded 22-5-1 Valle Catholic Warriors will face off with the third-seeded 21-8-1 Arcadia Valley Tigers. It was Valle getting the better of AV a couple weeks ago in three sets on Arcadia Valley’s Senior Night. The Warriors got by Valley Caledonia and Fredericktown in pool play, and while head coach Nancy Fischer thinks her team is playing well, she believes the same could be said about all four of the semifinalists.

For Arcadia Valley, they defeated Kingston and Ste. Genevieve during Monday’s pool play to get to this point. Head coach Tara Lamb said that while they ran into some tough competition and didn’t play their best in the recent Jackson Tournament, she still likes what she’s seeing from her girls right now.

The third place and championship matches will follow after the semifinals. You can tune into the action Thursday at 3:45 p.m. with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show on the MyMoInfo Sport Stream.
