(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.) – In a matchup of two of the better high school volleyball programs in the area, the Central Rebels emerged victorious Thursday night on the road over the Valle Catholic Warriors by a final of 2 sets to 1 on the MyMoInfo SportStream.

Central struggled in serve-receive in the first, and Valle took advantage, winning the opening set 25-18.

Senior Erin Mueller had two straight aces for Valle.

The Rebels would respond in the second, tying the match after a 25-22 set two victory.

Central carried over the momentum into the third, going up 8-1 in set three.

Valle would cut the lead to one on a few occasions late in the set, but Central junior and Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game Kaley Kimball shut the door at 24-22.

Rebels head coach Tracie Casey thought her team got it together after a tough start to the match.

Central is now 2-0 and will return home to face Desoto on Tuesday, while Valle is 1-1 and is at Festus on Tuesday.
