Central’s Allie Kelly Is The Applebee’s Of Farmington Athlete Of The Week After Excelling In District Tournament & State Quarterfinal

(Park Hills) After helping the Central Rebels to a Class 2 District 3 softball championship, senior Allie Kelly was named the Regional Radio/Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. Kelly pitched a complete-game in identical 6-0 victories over West County and Ste. Genevieve. Over 14 innings in the circle, Kelly gave up just three hits and struck out 17 while helping herself at the plate by going 4-for-6 over the two games…

The white banner is a reference to winning a State Championship, something the Rebels will have a chance to do next week. Central beat Houston 18-3 in the State Quarterfinals on Tuesday. Kelly tells us how the team spent their time on the 2 1/2 hour bus ride to Houston…

Kelly has two games left in her high school career before she heads to Three Rivers College to play softball. That makes this trip to State a little more special…

The 17-6 Central Rebels will take on the 21-4 Skyline Tigers Monday morning. We’ll broadcast the game on AM-800 KREI with a Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show beginning at 10:45 Monday morning. As Athlete of the Week, Kelly receives a T-shirt, a certificate and a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
