(Park Hills) Central’s Casen Murphy followed up a spectacular sophomore baseball season with perhaps an even more impressive junior campaign. He is once again our Regional Radio Dream Team baseball player of the year. Murphy was happy to hear that the area coaches respect his game…
Murphy hit .407 with 4 dingers and 24 driven in and stole 17 bases. He was even more dominant on the mount. He went deep into the season without giving up an earned run and finished by giving up only one on the year. Murphy went 8-0 with 90 strikeouts and a 0.149 ERA.
Even more impressive was the fact that Murphy battled injuries the entire season…
While he was compromised athletically, Murphy fined tuned some of his pitches…
When we asked Casen to name some highlights from the season, he focused on the team accomplishments…
Murphy led Central to a 19-4 season and a spot in the Class 4 state rankings. He was also a Dream Team athlete in the fall as the quarterback for the Rebels.
