Central’s Geile Named Softball Dream Team Coach Of The Year

(Park Hills) Central softball coach Taylor Geile is the Dream Team Coach of the Year after the Rebels finished in 4th place in Class 2 this season. Despite dropping both games at the state semifinals in Springfield last month, Geile appreciated the journey of getting there.

Central had just two seniors on the team, Dream Teamer Allie Kelly and Taylor Marler. Geile says their leadership was paramount throughout the year.

But the Rebels have a breadth of talent coming back including freshmen Dream Teamers Sydney Miles and Kaydence Cosby.

Cosby and Miles were just two of a talented young group that played a role in getting the Rebels to Springfield. Geile tells us when she realized her team could make a long postseason run.

Geile was named head coach at Central before the 2020 season but never got a chance to take the field because of COVID. Last year the Rebels lost in the district championship game to a Potosi team that finished 2nd in the state and now she has a 4th place finish at state under her belt. Geile tells us what she’s learned about herself as a coach since taking the job.

Central had a 17-8 record this season.
