Chief Lewis on his final days as Festus Police Chief

(Festus) Current Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis is just over a week away from officially retiring. Lewis has been the Chief of Police in Festus since 1999 and has a total of 41 years in law enforcement all with the City of Festus. Chief Lewis says he was able to get some good things accomplished over the past five years, which started with better salaries for the city officers.

Lewis says getting a better radio system was another important move.

Now that Lewis is retiring, Festus announced his replacement will be current Captain Doug Wendel. Lewis says he was the obvious choice.

Chief Lewis’ final day as the Festus Police Chief will be May 1st, while Captain Wendel will be officially sworn in as the new chief at the Festus City Council meeting on Monday night.
