Chief Lewis’ thoughts on his upcoming retirement

(Festus) Chief Tim Lewis is coming up on his final three months as Police Chief for the City of Festus.

Chief Lewis announced his retirement last May and with the appointment of Mayor Sam Richards and approval from the city council, current Festus Police Captain Doug Wendel will take over the reigns following Lewis’ retirement.

Chief Lewis has nothing but praise for Captain Wendel and what he will be able to do as the next Festus Police Chief.

Chief Lewis feels this is the perfect time to step down with the city in good shape and the department running smoothly.

Chief Lewis has been with the Festus Police Department since May 28th, 1982. His retirement will become effective on May 1st.
