City of Farmington Working On Storm Water Runoff Plan

(Farmington) Storm water runoff in Missouri’s larger cities needs to be in Environmental Protection Agency compliance and is monitored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

Farmington is big enough to be included in this program.

Tim Porter is the Development Services Director for the City of Farmington.

He says it’s time to revamp Farmington’s storm water management plan.

And Porter says citizens can help limit pollution that is released into Farmington’s wastewater management system.

Porter says other than Farmington, most other towns in the area do not need to be part of this program.

However, he says as towns continue to grow, sometime in the future they will also have to adhere to the program.
