Class 2 District 3 Softball Semifinals Sees Conference Foes In Postseason Play

Genevieve (16-8) and will begin at 4:15 then a rematch of the MAAA tournament championship between #2 West County (11-10) and #3 Central (14-6) will follow.

Potosi enters on a six game win streak having outscored their opponents 89-6 over that stretch. Ste. Gen just tied a school record with 16 wins in a season after beating Steelville 13-3 in the opening round of districts. Earlier in the season, the Trojans beat the Dragons 3-2 in a nine-inning thriller. Ste. Gen coach Becky Keim gave her thoughts on the April 14th matchup.

The nightcap is a trilogy match as Central and West County have beaten each other this season, but the Bulldogs have the current bragging rights. Trailing 1-0 in the 6th inning of the conference championship game, West County rallied to win 3-1 and take the crown as the #5 seed. Central coach Taylor Geile was anticipating Monday evening’s game right after the last one ended.
