(FESTUS) The Class 2 District 3 volleyball tournament semifinals and championship games are Wednesday night on KJFF and KREI.

Featured in the first semifinal match is top-seed Arcadia Valley at 26-5 and fourth-seeded St. Vincent at 13-16. This will be the 3rd time these sides have met this season with the Arcadia Valley Tigers having won the previous two meetings without dropping a single set.

St. Vincent Indians head coach Amy Umfleet says her players have to be prepared for another grinding affair with AV.

Tigers head coach Tara Lamb has a pretty special group of players, but one that stands out and always has a major impact on matches is sophomore middle hitter Maddie DeMent.

First serve between the Tigers and Indians is set for 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.

Coverage of the Class 2 District 3 tournament will continue on KREI and KJFF with the 2nd semifinal match, this one between 2nd-seed Jefferson at 29-6 and 3-seed St. Pius at 12-7.

The St. Pius Lancers defeated the Blue Jays back on October 2nd at St. Pius, two sets to one. Lancers head coach Shannon Leftridge knows the girls have a little extra motivation going into this rematch.

Jefferson head coach Tara Fish feels like her team didn’t play its best volleyball when they lost to St. Pius earlier, so getting their identity back will be key to winning this time around. Coach Fish says the girls have been working to make sure that happens.

Jefferson and St. Pius will play after Arcadia Valley and St. Vincent. We’ll wrap up our coverage on KJFF and KREI with the championship game with the winner from each semifinal game. Again, first serve of the night is set for 4:30.
