(FRANKCLAY, Mo.) – West County High School will host the Class 2 District 3 volleyball tournament Monday and Tuesday night with full coverage on KREI.

Valle Catholic received the top seed in the district and come in after taking third in the MAAA tournament and a 23-6-1 overall record.

Warriors coach Nancy Fischer says their performance in the conference tournament should give them some positive momentum.

Valle Catholic will face either the 4-seed West County or the 5-seed St. Vincent in the semifinals, while the 3-seed Jefferson and the 6-seed Kingston will play for a spot in the semis against the 2-seed Arcadia Valley.

Coach Fischer says it should be an intriguing set of match-ups.

While a Jefferson-Arcadia Valley matchup in the semifinals may seem likely, Kingston head coach Erica Hankins thinks her team is ready for the Bluejays after a 2-set loss to them earlier in the season.

For Jefferson R-7, a 23-9 record has been quite the achievement based on the fact that they only have 1 returning starter from a year ago.

Bluejays head coach Tara Fish says they’re looking strong going into districts.

Arcadia Valley may not be the top-seed, but they have defeated every single team in this district, besides St. Vincent who they haven’t faced this year.

And as the Tigers await their opponent, AV head coach Tara Lamb thinks her team is ready for districts.

All four quarterfinal and semifinal matches will take place Monday with the championship on Tuesday.

Coverage starts at 3:45 on AM-800 KREI.
