Class 3 District 2 Softball Tournament Wednesday on KJFF

(IMPERIAL) Round 1 of the Class 3 District 2 Softball Tournament at Windsor High School is on Wednesday on AM 1400 KJFF.

The first featured matchup is 4-seed Lutheran South and 5-seed Festus. The Lutheran South Lancers are 11-13 this season and are led by Linda McQueen. On the field, Amelia Stone leads the offense in batting average and RBI’s while leading Lancers pitching is Erin Acheson with an ERA of 2.80 and 16 complete games.

The Festus Tigers enter the game with a 12-16 record under Head Coach Jeff Montgomery. His Tigers faced the Lancers earlier this season and lost 9-1, but he remains confident his girls can get it done.

 
First pitch between Festus and Lutheran South is scheduled for 4:30.

The second featured matchup pits 3-seed St. Louis Notre Dame against 6-seed DeSoto. The Rebels are 10-8 under head coach Amanda Mohan but because she just had a baby last week, DeSoto graduate and Associate Coach Brittney Krodinger will run the team. She has spoken to the team about ignoring DeSoto’s 6-18 record and to not underestimate them.

 
The Dragons have lost 7 of their last 8.

Notre Dame and DeSoto will play approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Lutheran South and Festus. Pregame coverage of the Class 3 District 2 Softball Tournament at Windsor High School will begin at 4:15 on AM 1400 KJFF.
