Class 4 District 2 Basketball Championships Tonight on J98

(Park Hills, Mo.) The Class 4 District 2 basketball championships get underway this evening on J98 with #1 Central taking on #2 Farmington on the girls side and #1 Central squaring off with #2 Hillsboro on the boys side.

The girls game gets the night started between the (21-5) Central Rebels and the (13-12) Farmington Knights.

In their two matchups during the regular season, the Rebels topped the Knights in both games by an average margin of 19.5 points.

Despite that, Central head coach Josh Mapes says he knows the Knights are a much improved team.

Farmington head coach Rusty Sancegraw says his group will need to match the Rebels’ intensity in the game.

The boys championship rounds out the night as (20-6) Central takes on the (22-5) Hillsboro Hawks.

The two teams have split their two games this season with the Rebels winning 58-44 in the Central Christmas Tournament in December and the Hawks winning 72-71 at home back on February 21st.

Central head coach Allen Davis says he expects it to be a tough game.

Hillsboro head coach Dan Johnson says he knows the Rebels are dangerous at the T.J. Foulon Fieldhouse.

Coverage of the Class 4 District 2 basketball championships begins tonight at 5:45 on 98.5 FM, J98.
